Who is responsible for your information

Tagalog Hero provides the learning service at tagaloghero.com, and acts as the controller of the personal information described in this policy. The privacy contact for Tagalog Hero is available at support@tagaloghero.com. This policy applies to learners who use Tagalog Hero from any country.

Information we collect

Account and authentication

When you use Google Sign-In, we receive your Google account identifier, name, email address, profile image, and authentication information needed to maintain your session. We do not receive your Google password.

Historical payment records

The learning service is free. Historical payment records and related Stripe identifiers may remain for accounting, legal, or dispute purposes. Tagalog Hero does not store your full card number or card security code.

Learning and preference data

We store lesson completion, exercise performance, noun and skill mastery, review timing, learning settings, and related progress. A random browser identifier and local storage may be used for pre-sign-in continuity and to connect existing local progress to an account. We also retain a pseudonymous device category and recent activity time to operate cross-device progress and review aggregate service usage; we do not retain the full browser user-agent string for this purpose. For signed-in learners, we also record approximate active time in curriculum units and exercises to identify pacing and usability problems. This excludes hidden or unfocused tabs and pauses after two minutes without interaction. Timing records contain activity identifiers and durations, not typed answers or keystrokes, and are not shown to other learners or used to award gems.

Lesson reports, feedback, and communications

When you flag a lesson, we store your account identifier, the lesson and exercise identifiers, exercise type, a snapshot of the exercise prompt, phrase and answer, and report timestamps. Reports are available to authorized administrators, not published to other learners. If you email us, we receive your address and the information in your message. Do not send passwords, payment details, or personal information that is not needed to explain the issue. The public Idea Portal is no longer offered; any historical submissions remain subject to privacy and deletion requests.

Email preferences

Product updates and learning reminders are optional, separate choices in Profile. We store your account identifier, email address, selected topics, reminder frequency, and whether you have answered or dismissed the email prompt. We also keep a dated history of preference changes and the wording shown, so we can respect and document your choices. Signing in or dismissing the prompt does not subscribe you. You can change these choices in Profile without losing access to lessons. These settings are separate from analytics and advertising preferences.

For requested learning reminders, we keep scheduled send dates, delivery-attempt status, and provider message identifiers to prevent duplicate sends and investigate delivery problems. Reminder emails include an unsubscribe link. Email open and click tracking is disabled for these reminders.

Weekly leaderboard

Learners are automatically included in the weekly leaderboard visible to signed-in learners. It displays initials derived from your account name, a randomly assigned weekly character avatar, your weekly lesson count, and rank. It does not display your full name, email, Google photo, or detailed learning history. We do not collect gender to assign these avatars. The ranking week runs from Monday at 00:00 UTC and resets each week without deleting learning progress. The Friends view includes accepted connections only.

Administrator access

Authorized administrators can review account-linked information such as your name or email, recent activity, lesson progress, performance, and lesson reports to provide support, investigate problems, understand where learners struggle, and operate the service. These records are not limited to anonymous totals. Access is restricted to authorized administrative accounts.

Service and optional analytics data

Our hosting and security providers may process request timestamps, IP addresses, approximate country, browser or device information, and diagnostic logs. If you allow Analytics, Google Analytics uses pseudonymous identifiers to measure page visits, approximate region, browser or device information, and site interactions. We do not send your name, email, Google account ID, payment details, or learning-progress record to Google Analytics.

Signup totals and retired advertising measurement

Our private admin report counts account creation dates by month. These signup totals do not depend on optional analytics consent and do not identify an advertising source. Meta website tracking and signup-source collection have been disabled. Legacy advertising cookies and browser attribution records are cleared when you next visit the updated site. Previously collected records are not retroactively erased and remain subject to deletion requests.

Why we use information

• Provide the service: authenticate accounts, synchronize progress, deliver lessons, and respond to support requests.
• Personalize learning: select review material and adapt lesson recommendations from your performance.
• Operate safely: prevent abuse, enforce limits, troubleshoot failures, and protect accounts.
• Meet obligations: maintain billing, tax, accounting, consumer, and legal records where required.
• Improve Tagalog Hero: review lesson reports and learner progress through restricted administrator tools, analyze aggregate performance, and use optional Analytics only with consent.

Depending on your location, these activities rely on performing our agreement with you, complying with law, our legitimate interests in operating and securing the service, and your consent for optional site analytics. The current privacy control enables or rejects Google Analytics. You can withdraw permission through Privacy choices without losing access to lessons. Measurement uses pseudonymous identifiers and is not completely anonymous.

Adaptive learning

Tagalog Hero uses lesson and exercise results to choose practice and review material. This personalization affects what learning content you see next. It does not make decisions that create legal, employment, credit, educational-admission, or similarly significant effects.

Providers and international processing

We use the following providers to operate Tagalog Hero:

• Neon provides authentication and database storage.
• Vercel hosts, secures, and delivers the website.
• Zoho ZeptoMail processes recipient email addresses and email content to deliver requested learning reminders and service emails.
• Google provides account sign-in and, with permission, Analytics.
• Stripe holds historical payment records.

These providers may process information in Canada, the United States, the European Economic Area, or other locations where they or their subprocessors operate. Information may therefore be subject to laws different from those in your country. We select established providers and rely on their contractual, organizational, and technical safeguards for international processing.

We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect people or the service, or during a business transaction subject to appropriate safeguards. We do not sell personal information.

Cookies and local storage

Essential storage is required for account and service functions. Optional Google Analytics storage is not activated until you enable site analytics. Rejecting optional analytics does not prevent access to the learning service.

Retention and deletion

• Account and learning data is kept while your account is active and as needed to provide the service.
• Email preference history is retained as needed to honor opt-outs and document permission. You may contact us to request access, correction, or deletion of these records.
• Lesson reports, support correspondence, and historical feedback are retained as needed to investigate issues, improve lessons, handle requests, and address security or legal matters. You may request deletion of account-linked records.
• Historical transaction records may be kept where tax, accounting, fraud-prevention, or consumer laws require it.
• Security logs and backups remain only for the applicable provider's operational retention period and are then deleted or overwritten.
• Google Analytics event data follows the retention setting configured for our Analytics property; browser cookies may last up to 400 days.

To request account deletion, email support@tagaloghero.com from your account email. We will verify the request and remove or de-identify information that is not required for legal, billing, security, or dispute purposes. Residual copies may remain temporarily in protected backups until those backups are overwritten.

Deleting browser data alone does not delete server-side records. You may need to clear local site data separately on each device.

Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, or a portable copy of your information, and may withdraw consent. You may also complain to your local privacy or data-protection authority. We will not discriminate against you for exercising an applicable privacy right. Send requests to support@tagaloghero.com.

Security and incidents

We use HTTPS, managed authentication, access controls, restricted credentials, and provider security measures. No online service can guarantee absolute security. If a breach creates a notification duty, we will notify affected people and regulators as required by applicable law.

Children

Tagalog Hero is intended for learners aged 13 and older, not children under 13. You must also be old enough to consent to account and data processing under the law where you live; otherwise, a parent or guardian must authorize your use. A parent or guardian who believes a child provided information without valid permission should contact us for review and deletion.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when the service or legal requirements change. We will update the effective date and provide additional notice for material changes when required. Previous processing remains governed by the version applicable at that time.
